Project' s Description

The University of Cyprus Stelios Joannou L.R.C. has been designed by famous architects Ateliers Jean Nouvel and is being constructed by J&P/AVAX S.A. in the university campus in Nicosia, Cyprus.
Prominent part of this modern library is its 40m span steel dome, which is covered by hexagonal cast aluminium panels and has a heliostat at its occulus to reflect the light to a cone situated at the central atrium.
Our company had been appointed as the coordinator of the the steel dome structural and architectural works.
In addition we supervised and checked the detailed design, fabrication, erection, surface protection, quality control, inspection, maintenance provision e.t.c of the dome and helped find solutions to the problems encountered during these phases of the project. At the same time we had the difficult task of bringing together the parties involved in this multinational project (French, Spanish, Swiss, Greek and Cypriot e.t.c. ).
