TRANSFORMATION OF AN EXISTING BUILDING IN ATHENS TO MEET THE EDUCATIONAL AND RESEARCH NEEDS OF THE A.U.E.B.
Project's Description

The building, property of the OTE-ESTATE, was constructed in 1980. It is located in the junction of Kimolou, Trias and Spetson streets in Kypseli, Athens. It was used for telecommunication services, but now, after being purchased by the AUEB (Athens University of Economics and Business), it is going to become part of the university. A new building permit was issued in order to allow the implementation of the necessary renovations and changes of use, converting the building into an academic institute. Because of the aforementioned change of use, design for the static and anti-seismic capacity of the building was carried out. Our company’s role in this project was that of the executive consultant in service of the purchased, AUEB, on issues related to the design of the structural assessment and strengthening. The latter was carried out by another company, appointed by ΟΤΕ-ESTATE. Furthermore, our company undertook the technical supervision of the structural works of the project.
