BUILDING INFRASTRUCTURE FOR THE INSTALLATION OF A LINEAR ACCELERATOR AT THE 401 GENERAL MILITARY HOSPITAL OF ATHENS 
Project's Description 

Detailed design of a linear accelerator and its auxiliary support areas at the 401 military hospital.

The study includes renovation of part of the existing basement of the building and the addition of an underground 3 storey building (semi-basement and 2 basements), as extension and in contact to the existing building. The project includes the linear accelerator room, the brachytherapy room, the simulator room, doctors' offices, examination rooms, auxiliary personnel rooms and circulation areas.

Total area of the extension: 1,192 m²

Total renovated area: 180 m²

A temporary retaining structure, using the anchored piles method was designed, due to the significant depth of the excavation.

The foundation is a semi-water protected raft.
