REPAIR - MODERNIZATION OF SPETSES ARCHAEOLOGICAL MUSEUM
Project's Description

The Museum is housed at the Chatzigianni Mexi mansion, in the central settlement of Spetses island and dates back to the late 18th century. It is a three-storey building whose first two floors are "Π" shaped whilst the third, the Big Ontas (Big Room), forms a recess to only a part of the central wing of the "Π". The structure's main characteristic is the portico with the arched spans.

The study of the interventions includes: Construction of an outdoor steel elevator, strengthening of the second storey timber floor, strengthening of the first floor portico, strengthening of the attic at the northwest wing, seaming of the cracks on the masonry structure, repair and strengthening of the domes, maintenance and repair of the timber tie rods - arches, replacement of the timber lintels at the window openings, replacement of the marble column collars and strengthening of the support of the cantilever bow window.
