AIRCRAFT MAINTENANCE HANGAR AT THE ATHENS INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT "ELEFTHERIOS VENIZELOS"
Project's Description
Steel hangar for the simultaneous inspection of two Aegean Airlines A320 aircrafts (dimensions: 60 x 73m)
It comprises 10 lattice frames with 60 m span and maximum height 19.25m. At the entrance end, the twin construction supports a three-section MEGADOOR type door, so as to achieve the final door span of 56 m. Inside the building, a stucturally independent two-storey office building (room in room) is constructed, with a composite floor system. The foundation is mainly composed of two rectangular longitudinal continuous strip footings, confined inside the existing substrate of the airport ramp.
