Project's Description
The building was constructed in 2000. It features reinforced concrete basement and ground floor and a steel mezzanine. Each level is about 800m2 in plan. The new use of the existing structure as a PLAISIO S.A. retail store, brought about the need for structural evaluation of the building including the mezzanine, elevators, staircases, all made of steel. Our services started by the on-site identification and inspection of the geometry and details of both the concrete and steel elements. The next stage was the 3D analysis and checking of the whole structure. In parallel, static analysis, dynamic analysis (for vibration control) and design checks were undertaken for the steel floor. Moreover, concrete members already strengthened were also checked. These members were strengthened with the use of steel plates and fiber-reinforced polymers (CFRP).
