Projec's Description 

The project consists of two steel structurally independent buildings, 2000 m2 and 500 m2 in plan. They are built as an extension to the existing facilties of Papoutsanis S.A.

The main structural system comprises conventional sway portal frames in one direction and non-sway x-braced frames in the other. The roof diaphragm action and girder out-of plane support is achieved via longitudinal rolled beams and roof diagonal bracing. The structural system is competed with thin-walled purlins and side rails.

The foundation is designed as strip footings in one direction. However, some perimetrical columns in both buildings are inevitably supported on existing footings which are strengthened.
