Project's Description

Various local checks in a 5 storey residential building with basement, constructed in 1978 and appropriate strengthening. The local checks have been focused on the specific damages of the structure, i.e.:
• Bending moment failure of long cantilevers, accompanied with great deformations
• Damages of long span slabs
• Wrong estimate of ground floor – soft storey column rigidities

 Appropriate stengthening solutions were executed addressing all design and durability problems. The structural interventions included resin injections, in-situ gunite, reinforced polymers, corrosion inhibitors, additional structural steel members to support the balconies e.t.c.
